Drug or Chemo Therapy
Like most Hodgkin's patients, I started out with ABVD. I had great response to the chemo drugs almost immediately and started feeling better within 2 weeks after the first treatment. The nausea was well controlled and I was living a almost normal life. I worked part-time (30 hours/week.) My scans looked great and I finished my 6 months of treatment with a clean bill of health. Within 3 mths though, I had already reoccurred. There is a 20% reoccurance rate from ABVD and I was part of that group. Then I did MOPP, R-CHOP, and E-CHOP that I progressed right through and then I had a stem-cell transplant followed by radiation. That was what cured me.
