Anemia (low red blood cell counts)
Side Effects
I battled with Anemia through my whole process. The worst was the last two months of treatment. I had to receive Neupogen shots. Those shots saved my life, but were horrible.
Hair loss (alopecia)
Side Effects
It's hard being 25 without hair. Talk about low self-esteem. I have been off of treatment for six months, my hair is to my ears. I will never take advantage of the emotional attachment to my locks.
Nausea/Vomiting
Side Effects
Every single day, 24/7. I lost 40lbs while being on treatment for a year.
