Chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
I devrloped a severe neutropenia and clostridium infection after my first treatment with R-CHOP and I was hospitalized. After that, no problems. I would get the treatment on Monday. On Tuesday I would go to the hospital to get a Neulasta shot, then do home physical therapy all day, then go to band practice at night. The following weekend I did haVE MILD DIARRHEA.
Phase 1 - Zevalin and Velcade
Clinical Trial
34 month remission. Did develop neuralgia paresthetica, a type of neuropathy, nine months after treatment. I attributed this to the Velcade. Cured a year later by acupuncture.
Other
Celebration
Two years ago I realized I was seeing the lymphoma as a chronic illness rather than a terminal illness and just not thinking about it as much.

Other Care
I highly recommend going on a cancer retreat. I went to one sponsored by the Smith Center in Washington, D.C. We had a one hour full body massage three times a week. We also had individual and group therapy, writing therapy, art therapy, sand castle, classes on issues related to cancer, yoga classes and much more.
