    Lump

    Oh No

I was 7 months pregnant and I discovered a lump on the side of my neck near my collar bone which grew bigger and bigger, But it did not hurt at all.

    Hospitalization

    Other Care

I gave birth to my daughter January 15, 2011 and two days later you can say I was taken to get a Pet Scan in order to see what was going on in my body, (I didn't know yet they were considering it to be cancer.) I was very confused but I just wanted to get everything done so I can get home to taking care of my newborn baby!

    Surgery

    Procedure or Surgery

After I gave birth I was taken three days later to get the lump removed for a biopsy. (To see if it was cancerous or not since they had already ruled out if wasn't an infection or anything else.) They ended up removing the whole entire gland. Now have a nice big scar on top of my collar bone.. Sucks because people always point it out and ask "Oh my what happened? Did you get into an accident?? Did someone try to kill you??" It gets annoying but I just tell them "No, Just kicked cancers butt!" lol

    Diagnosed

    Oh No

I was alone sitting in my hospital room, sad because I couldn't be with my newborn because of the Pet Scan I had gotten done the day before (Had to wait two days to be with her because they had injected a radioactive material into my blood stream for the study and you can not be around babies, toddlers or children.) A doctor walks in and tells me they had biopsied the mass and they found out if was cancer... Told me it was Stage 3 Hodgkin Lymphoma, I had no reaction. ALL i wanted to know was how can I fight this off and if I had a chance to live. All I had in mind was will I be there to raise my beautiful daughter! It sucked that I was sitting there all by myself... A heads up that I was going to get my results would of been nice, But at the same time I was glad I was alone... I Was able to be STRONG for MYSELF without the help of anyone else.. Besides later on when my mother found out she took it harder then I did!

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

CHEMOTHERAPY... LORD HAVE MERCY! First off the doctor NEVER told me the Chemo was going to be for 6 months, initially he said 4 months the most! -__- THEN he never offered or told me about getting catheter! Which made all 6 months of my chemo therapy a living XXX! I was given Chemo through I.V, I was receiving ABVD and that is one of the most strongest combinations of Chemo a person can get, which ended up damaging my veins! Made my veins TREMBLE which caused HORRIBLE PAIN through out my arm where I received the Chemo Therapy. My doctor was later changed ( I guess because of his horrible ways!) I was changed to another doctor which helped me SO MUCH, gave me medication to make everything better. (A lot of nausea, and pain!) during the last month (Last 2 sessions) of Chemo my veins where so dried put and damaged I had to get a Pic-Line inserted on my right arm, which made Chemo SO MUCH better for me... If I would of known ahead of time, I would of gotten it in the first place!
