Diagnosed
Oh No
I was diagnosed in 2003 stage 4 Melanoma. I did clinical trials and the cancer started moving through my lymph nodes to other areas of my body internally. Then it went to my brain in 2004 had surgery and I I had 47 treatments of IL-2 and 30 days nonstop of radiation Over the years I went back in 2009 for more IL-2. and compl;eted 9 rounds of IL-2 again.. Through all of this I have had 15 surgerys internally. Nov. 2011 I was diagnosed with 3 inoperable tumors and put on Yervoy for three months.. So far two have gone and 2mm of one is left. I go back for scans this month I Praise God through all of this, He has been with me through all of this. I also believe 98% of your recovery is attiitude. I work with people who have this type of cancer and others to encourage and give hope(no I am not a nurse) just helping people who have no clue what is happening. Over the years I have gotten 4 of these people into be a patient under my doctor. Very Rare. I am Blessed and never lose sight of that. I am also asked to be a member of an Executive Board Melanoma Commitee. I continue to call and check on these people and have driven out of state to encourage and visit. I am truely Blessed to be alive.
