    Diagnosed

    Oh No

My world was turned upside down when I was diagnosed with breast cancer! I was the first person on either side of my family to have been diagnosed with any type of cancer.

    Sentinel lymph node biopsy

    Procedure or Surgery

I was one of the first successful sentinel node biopsy patients that my surgical team had performed. I really liked the fact that I only lost 1 lymph node and had minimally invasive surgery.

    Triple Negative Survivor (lifelong trial)

    Clinical Trial

If I can help others by being in a clinical trial, I'm happy to do it. It does not require anything outside my normal doctor visits.

Low white blood cell counts (neutropenia)

    Side Effects

My white blood count remains damaged, but I stay relatively healthy. I had a bone marrow biopsy to try to figure out why my white count won't recover, but no answers. As long as I stay healthy, I don't worry about it.

    Finished treatment

    Celebration

My husband and I took a nice vacation to celebrate when I was done with treatment. I highly recommend it. It is good to plan a vacation while you are going through treatment. It gives you something to look forward to.

    My husband was so supportive!

    Other Care

He went to every doctor appointment I had while going through cancer treatment. I couldn't have done it without him.
