    Diagnosed

    Oh No

When I first was diagnosed with bladder cancer, I was devastated. I am being treated for hyperstension which included various medication and one of them was a diuretic that made me urinated alot. I didn't think anything of it until I noticed alittle blood in my urine and again I didn't give it a second thought because my job is pretty physical and I thought maybe it was caused by that. A little time goes by and it got worse with some paint (burning) involved so I went to my doctor. It turned out to be cancer! So many thoughts went through my mind. All I thought about was my wife...my kids...so much I haven't done yet...etc. Live is so precious...and so short...don"t waste it...

    BCG-Immunal Treatment

    Procedure or Surgery

With all the options available, I thought this one made the most sense - simple procedure, no damage to healthy cells, no side effects (atleast in my case), and little impact to my family, friends and coworkers.

    Went as Expected: Strongly Agree
    Minimal Recovery: Strongly Agree
    Minimal Side Effects: Strongly Agree
Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Strongly Agree

    Remission

    Celebration

Had surgery to remove tumor and continued aggressive treatments and routine treatments after that. Was in remission for almost two years (just one month short of two years) when a follow-up cystoscopy discovered two small tumors. Had thosed remove about three weeks ago and continued BCG treatments...I will find out the outcome in one month.

    Bladder removal?!?

    Decision Point

My doctor said the best remedy is to have my bladder removed. I thought that it was caught early...it was removed (the tumor)...treatments are working..I had quit smoking...changed my diet...etc. With all that going for me, I believe I have a good chance to beat this! I decided to wait and see, give the treatments and lifestyle change time and look into clinical trials.
