Cancer is back/Recurred
Oh No
I first had cancer in the first grade. Never took traditional Chemotherapy but always went to the doctor and had tests run. Was in remission until I entered 9th grade.
Chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
Took 3 years of twice monthly IV therapy. I was able to receive my chemo at home sometimes due to my mother being a chemo nurse and we had family friend who was an oncologist. This greatly affected me because i was able to live my life and do all the things teens do except for a couple of days twice a month.
Hair loss (alopecia)
Side Effects
I lost my hair right away and started wearing a wig as be the third week of diagnosis.
Nausea/Vomiting
Side Effects
This was common with every injection. My father actually would help out and take out my IV.
