Biopsy
Procedure or Surgery
I had a lump on the side of my neck that the Drs. said definitly was NOT cancer, but has to be removed, upon waking up, I was told I had Lymphoma. I reacted negativly to the anesthesia, and was vomiting for 8 hours
Implant chemotherapy port
Procedure or Surgery
This surgery went much better, they adjusted the meds so i was not sick when I woke up.
Chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
The chemo made me sick, and gave me migraines, but my doctors had told me not to suffer, so I was given yet more meds to remedy that
I was told the chemo was not working
Decision Point
They felt I needed a stem cell transplant, we has to choose which facility to use, a daunting task when you dont have any experience with cancer centers! We ended up choosing Dana Farber ( a fine choice). I say we because my husband was there with me every step of the way. We began the process, and discovered the chemo was working, but I also have Sarcoids and it shows up the same as Lymphoma on the scans. It was a LONG process to figyure out how to separate the two.
Surgery
Procedure or Surgery
I had to go to a thorassiac surgoen to have a mediascopsy(?) to biopsy the spots that showed up on the scans. It turned to be Sarcoids. The recovery was rough.
Chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
We continued with the chemo treatments
Finished treatment
Celebration
We finished the treatments, but I am in remission, and every Sarcoid that shows up on my scans has to be rescanned or biopsied.
