    Diagnosed

    Oh No

It was my first mammogram and when they told me to go back to the waiting room because they needed to show it to the doctor, I sensed that something was wrong. Still it was a big shock when I got confirmation of breast cancer, it's like the doctor was talking to me in a foreign language. Glad my husband was there with me, he has been so supportive and so helpful ! I have 3 kids, 22,21, 20 and it's been hard on them too, but we keep on going day by day...

    Mastectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

I was out of work from the time of the surgery to after treatments were done, had the benefit of disability. Mostly was feeling very tired and depressed. I know I've been lucky but that doesn't mean that I feel good about the changes my body it's been going thru.

    External radiation

    Radiation

Radiation I didn't like at all, there was a constant burning sensation and it hurts, to the point that I thought of not finishing. I had 35 sessions, at least the last 5 were more concealed to the breast area and they lasted for about 30 seconds each.
