Oh No
It was my boyfriend's birthday night and we had some friends over just hanging out and drinking. I only had about 3 beers when all of the sudden I got really sick. I started vomiting. I knew right away something was going on. I never get sick off of 3 beers. So, me and a few of my girlfriends went to Walmart and got a pregnancy test. As soon as I got home I went straight to the bathroom. The test came back positive. I'm thinking in my head there's no way this can't be true, but at the same time very excited! So on Monday (two days after) i went to an urgent care clinic because I had been spotting for about 3 days prior. As the doctor confirms my pregnancy I tell him I've been spotting, right away he tells me to go straight to womans hospital to make sure it's not an eptopic pregnancy. My obgyn does an ultrasound and sees nothing. Next she tries to find the heart beat, nothing. So she sends me down to the big ultrasound room and get another one done. I go back up to my obgyns room and give her my papers and tells me I have a molar pregnancy. I was so heart broken. So she schedules me in surgery ASAP. A few weeks after my surgery I go for a checkup to make sure she removed all the tissue. Come to find out, the tissue has grown. That's when she tells me I have Gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD) and sends me to the Oncologist.
Chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
The first type of chemo I received was through a vein every other week (I can't remember the name of it). This chemo made me really sick and weak to where I could not go to work for the whole week.
Cancer was growing, but not spreading.
Oh No
After a month of chemo, I went to my check up only to find out the treatment wasn't doing anything for my cancer.
Chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
Since the first chemo my doctor put me on did not work, he decided to put me on a stronger chemo (Methotrexate) that actually has less side effects than my last as well as it was just one shot in each hip every week.
