Diagnosed
Oh No
I was the healthiest woman I knew when I was diagnosd with cancer. I did everything "right"...ate healthy, exercised, didn't smoke. Apparently all that didn't matter..cancer doesn't care if you do things "right."
Lumpectomy
Procedure or Surgery
In hindsight, the surgery was the easy part. Crazy!
Chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
Six rounds of taxotere and carboplatin. No picnic, but definitely survivable!
External radiation
Radiation
33 rounds. Seriously inconvenient! The itching and blistering would have been minimized if the nurses hadn't been so stingy with the samples of the "good stuff."

Finished treatment
Celebration
We had a giant pink party with a photo station where people could put on pink accessories...boas, wigs, jewelry, giant glasses, tiaras...you get the idea. A month later, I decorated my pink tent at the Komen 3 day with the pics...and, YES, I walked the entire 60 miles!
