    Surgery

    Procedure or Surgery

Thyroid cancer found unexpectedly during surgery for parathyroid adenoma. Returned two days later for more surgery. Surgeon removed half my thyroid, not all of it. It all happened so fast, no time to research it and learn about what I had. Saw 5 doctors, and they were evenly split (one was on the fence) about whether entire thyroid should have been removed or not. Not sure if I did the right thing.

    Other

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

Now on thyroid medication for life. Supposed to suppress what remains of my thyroid to lessen the chance of cancer coming back. It's been 21 months and my endo can't get me on the right dose. Every time I get close, my TSH jumps upward again and he doesn't know why. Tired of going back every 6 weeks for more blood tests and another dose change.
