What's this thing in my throat?
Oh No
After getting back from six months in a remote under-priviledged country, I was enjoying having a mirror that bigger that my face. I was making faces and doing random things no one ever thinks to do in front of a mirror. At one point I looked up and swallowed. Oh my goodness!!! Women don't have Adam's apples! I lost my cool but couldn't see a doctor until the next day (there was no ER where I was).
Misdiagnosed
Oh No
Since I had to wait until the next day I did extensive research. It wasn't like I was going to be able to sleep anyways. I learned all about a thyroid and a goiter that night. So when I went to see a doctor the next day I was armed with knowledge. Good thing too because he informed me my throat was just a little swollen. He wouldn't listen to me one bit. I walked from his office and immediately made an appointment with MY doctor a few days later.
