    Cancer is back/Recurred

    Oh No

Had Hodgekins Disease my first year of college at the age of 18. I was given the MOPP treatment. Was told I could be sterile. I ended up having three healthy children. Twenty years later, I was diagnosed with Hodgekins Disease once again. I was given the ABVD treatment and also radiation.

Very grateful for the port since my veins were/are shot from having chemo 20 years ago.

    Biopsy of nodule

    Procedure or Surgery

The first surgery was a biopsy of the nodule under my arm as outpatient. 20 years later, I had a mass in my chest the size of a softball. I was scheduled for a needle biopsy and the radiologist punctured a vein in my chest. Was immediately taken to the ER and had to have a chest tube inserted. And when the results came back, they were inconclusive. So, I had to have a surgical biopsy of the mass in my chest area which confirmed Hodgekins Lymphoma 3B again.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I was very sick by chemotherapy. Even the anti nausea medications didn't work very well for me. By the end, I was given steriods which did help the recovery time.

    External radiation

    Radiation

Besides being tired, the radiation treatments were easy compared to chemo. Just inconvient because you have to go daily. At least it was fast and efficient.

    Hair is back

    Celebration

Was absolutely thrilled when my hair started growing in again....little fuzzy curls about 3 months after treatments stopped.
