    Diagnosed

    Oh No

I was terrified. I thought it was the beginning of the end of my life and I just wasn't ready.

    Lobectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

For one thing, I didn't know what to expect. I had complications after surgery when they took the chest tube out, so I was in the hospital longer than expected. I was more disabled short term than I expected, but long term I have regained a lot more function than I thought I would. I have a very normal life now, and do all the things I used to and more. I just got back from an awesome trip to the Holy Land and I walked the Via Della Rosa without any problems. I was back to work 3 monthes after my surgery.

    Anniversary

    Celebration

My last check up I moved from needing to be checked every three monthes to every six monthes. I feels good to move farther away from it. I got the news after returning from my trip to the Holy Land, which I had planned when they discovered I had cancer and I had to cancel it for the surgery. I finally got to go a year later. That was the real celebration because it was the trip I have always wanted to take. I've used this whole experience as a time for spiritual growth. I am no longer the wishy washy Christian I used to be and I have been blessed with incredible spiritual growth that has filled my life with joy. I just want that to continue no matter what happens with the cancer.
