    Diagnosed

    Oh No

Breast Cancer did not run in my family and I have always been healthy so I thought that there was no way that it would be positive, I was so sure that after my biopsy that everything would be fine that my husband and family didn't even go with me to my appointment with the breast surgeon; When she walked in the room she looked at the empty chair and I had a feeling that something was not right on March 9, 2011 I was diagnosed with breast cancer I was in such shock that I didn't even know what to ask, she gave me a pink bag with information and a date for my port to be put in, I called my husband, my boss and my sister, then came home told my 25 year old son, and called my 21 year old daughter.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I sat in the doctors office as the nurse held my hands and told me that God has my back, I didn't know what to expect but I soon found out I had leg pain, diahrea, and within a week lost my hair.

    Mastectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

I have never experienced something so painful, I couldn't move my arms, I slept in a recliner for a month, I had drains that I had to empty, someone had to drive me around and of course the worst is I lost my breasts, my family had to help with everything, but the most hurtful was that I could not hug my granddaughter.

I had an infection in one of the expanders

    Oh No

I had chemo the week after my surgery so I thought the sickness and fever was because of the chemo but it turned out to be MERSA, I had to have one expander removed so that was an set back to full recover

More lymphnodes needed to be removed

    Oh No

as if I haven't had enough, I was informed that there was still 4cm left so I had another surgery, I wanted to go back to work the first of August which would only leave me out one month, instead I ended up taking another month off of work, Thank God for a sympathetic company.

    Finished treatment

    Celebration

On June 7, 2012 I completed my last treatment of Herceptin, I now go every four month for check ups , I have had two ultrasounds and by the Grace of God I am still cancer free, I also had my implants on March of 2012, I'm not happy with how they look.
