    Diagnosed

    Oh No

After mammo and sono, the reading said follow up in 6 months, nothing really important. I insisted because I had a lump. I went to surgeon to have a biopsy. I had my doubts but it was not big surprise to have a positive diagnose. I have to aunts with breast cancer and one died 18 yrs. ago :(

    Lumpectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

The surgeon was very open about the different outcomes and alternatives depending on results. I felt ok two days after surgery, I took pain killers just for 24 hrs. It was hard to stop doing things since I am very independent and don't like asking for help. I am a very lucky person, my daughters, neighbors and friends have been very supportive and helpful.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

On my first cycle I was very nervous and afraid; I guess it was because at this age you think you have experience everything and not knowing about how my body was going to react was troubling me. I do have a port, so it was quite simple. I took Emmend (pills to prevent vomitting) and they really worked. I had never been sick on my stomach. Food smell makes me nauseous but I just walk away from it. I am drinking guanabana tea (get 3 cups of water boiling, turn off the stove throw around 15 clean leaves and cover for 10 min.) I always squeeze half a lemon on the cup I drink and also use agave. I have read a lot and my Dr. told me nothing natural will harm. I also add lots of faith :)
