    Diagnosed

    Oh No

No one in family had any type of cancer. Was totally an unknown diagnosis. Also, I am only child that does not, nor did ever smoke. Eat well, exercise regularly, never took birth control tabs due to cancer related risks. I was totally caught off guard.

    Mastectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

I read and read everything I could find regarding mastectomy and operation was much milder than my expectations. Had full range of arm movement from wakeup. I was demonstrating and bragging to my surgeon as soon as she came into my room. That surprised me I had expected alot of restrictions due to lymph vessels manipulation.

    Went as Expected: Agree
    Minimal Recovery: Agree
    Minimal Side Effects: Strongly Agree
Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Neutral/NA

    follow up with onconologist

    Decision Point

I had been given choice of lumpectomy with 6 wks radiation, or full mastectomy with no radiation. That was why I chose mastectomy. No, I will not go to oncologist. I would rather die of cancer than again incapacitate myself like this again.
