    Oh No

So my oh no has many issues to it. First the Diagnoses of stage IV, then the Metastasized to the bones and marrow and in the lymph nodes info that followed. Still more Oh No's were that this came after being abandoned and divorced after 25 years of marriage while being a stay at home, home school mother of two and full time caregiver to my two handicapped parents that lived with us. The diagnoses came only after I had finally found a job and had returned to school to try to gain a career education to still better our situation. So the 8th month after being back in the work force I got the diagnoses.

    Surgery

    Procedure or Surgery

Because I tested hormonally sensitive in the tumor biopsy, the Dr's wanted to take out my ovaries as I hadn't hit menopause yet and this would let them control the amount of estrogen that was in my body and could be a way to shrink the tumors.

    Bone strengthening drugs

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

So my Dr. also put me on Zometa to help with the damage to the bones but more for the hormone pill that she put me on as that pill takes bone away as a side effect.

I'm in a clinical trial for the Zometa I.V. that I get

    Clinical Trial

This trial is to find out a percentage of people that are effected with jaw bone or dental issues from the Zometa. It's a study with 7,000 people in it in the US and Canada. The study will be for three year.

    Radiation

This was a time commitment to go through the round of treatments so it did take a toll on my daily life and finically.

    Weight gain

    Side Effects

The hormone pill has caused a great deal of weight gain! This has been at a rate of 6 pounds per month! This is bad because I've not been allowed to exercise due to all the bone damage and current lesions.

    Flu-like symptoms (fever, chills, sweats)

    Side Effects

I get these symptoms from my bone infusions but they only last a day or two and then I seem to be ok again.

    Procedure or Surgery

Had a bilateral mastectomy 4 weeks ago and I'm healing up very well. Drains are out but now I seem to have some fluid build up in spots. I had stop wearing the compression garment but am going to try to wear it to see if that might help. It's not a huge deal of fluid so Dr. says it should be ok as long as it goes down overnight each time.
