Shocked!!!!!! Fearfull!!!! Fear of death of my husband of 30 years September 2012
What do we do now? How do we walk this road "together".
Decision Point
Our kids sent my husband and I away for the following weekend once diagnosed. During this, we cried, we had many thoughts and fears. We shared 30 years of memory lane and figured out WE TOGETHER AS ONE will fight this disease will all OUR MIGHT and THE POWER of GOD!! GOD is in CONTROL He always has been AND HE always will be. My husband "whom is fighting Stage 4A throat cancer" found this saying. "We may not know what the future holds, but we can trust the one who holds the future" quoted in Our Daily Bread
Pic Line and preparation of feeding tube.. Surgery not an option
Procedure or Surgery
Area and size of tumor NO Surgery removal. Husband prepared for feeding tube but plans to fight through with out using it.
Chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
My husband's moved quickly into right lymph node in just a little over (3) weeks grew to nearly (5cm) doctors had to act quickly and changed the initial staging
Side Effects
Hospitalized, ran a fever, infection of some sort due to very low to minimal white blood count. (3) types of chemo (2) in a slow drip process one time a week and (1) chemo in fanny pack with a drip every (60) seconds!!! Doctor's first thought after first regime he may not be able to physically handle the harsh chemo treatment ( aggressive growth = aggressive treatment) more than (1) more cycle, my husband fought back and made it through (3) total segments of this harsh approach!!!!!! Surprised his doctors! With God on his side and a woman that loves him so much how could he not??
Internal radiation
Radiation
(35) days straight with radiation and (1) chemo session each week. If this changes I'll change this posting, as it seems the regiment changes depending on what's happening.
