    Diagnosed

    Oh No

Mom went in for test because of pain in her midsection that wouldn't go away. After a cat scan was performed they found multiple lesions on her pelvic and spine. Many test and two pathologist looking at labs it was determined she had Epithelioid Angiosarcoma of the bone. Pretty ruff news when you think you are going in for a quick fix.

    Implant chemotherapy port

    Procedure or Surgery

The power port was a simple procedure except that they had my mom on her back for 3 hours and that is where all her pain is but it has been wonderful for her to have.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

Currently my mom receives chemo every 28 days. She has had 2 treatments so far and the side effects were minimal. The chemo brain has been a constant struggle.

    Pain medicine

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

The pain has been the worse part for my mom and for me as a caregiver. I just wish I could take some of it for her. It has been two months since she was diagnosed and she is still trying different drugs to get to an even level while still having quality of life. Morphine helped some but she was a zombie. Currently working with different levels of Fentanyl patches and they seem to be working better but the patches get messed up and you worry if your loved one is getting the full dosage.
