Total gastrectomy & duodenectomy. Will get a total colectomy in 6 days.

    Procedure or Surgery

I have had a total gastrectomy & duodenectomy 2 years ago ( due to a gastric bypass& then reversal of bypass gone wrong), but now in 6 days I'll be having a total colectomy (doctor doesn't know yet if I have colorectal cancer. I have been dignosed with Diverticula & last month, I was in the hospital because my colon had a periforlation; so I was rectally bleeding & also in my urine. Also, my colon is over 3 times the normal size of that of a healthy person. My question then is: Has anyone had these same or similar surgeries? How's your quality of life? Did you lose or gain weight? How are you coping, because to tell you the truth, I'm SCARED!! I know God is with me, but still the pain of going through this is unavoidable. I apologize for such a long rambling, but if anyone has any info that might be helpful to me, I'd truly appreciate it!! Maddy
