    Double Mastectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

I was lucky enought to have large enough breast that they were able to do my reconstruciton at same time as removal. The down side was a week later some of the tissue started to die and they had to cut me back open pull the skin and with that left larger scars than would of been. They are still pretty darn cute for a 48 year old

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

With the mediccations they have now it really minimizes the side effects of Chemo. It was never as bad as I thought it would be. Not saying its fun but could of been much worse

    Minimal Side Effects: Agree
Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Agree

    Hair loss (alopecia)

    Side Effects

Hair loss isnt so bad. You save lots on hair cuts and beauty products. I didnt wear a wig, hat or anything. I felt that going bald allowed people to ask a questions and maybe one person out of the many may decide to go get there check up so it can be caught early enough

    Taste change/loss

    Side Effects

Things I used to love to this day I still dont like and the same with things I didnt like I love. The worse is the Grease and Metal Taste in your mouth. Progresso soups have a great line that actaully taste good.

    Celebration

What a special day to hear those words. It was a great day to spend alone with my husband celebrating all WE went through, The care giver in many ways has it worse than the actual cancer patient
