    Chemotherapy

    in hospital for Phase 1 (induction) and in bed at home for Phase 2 (consolidation), Phase 3 (maintenance) is oral chemo and tolerated that ok for 6 months but not a lot of side effects and is suppose to go for another 18 months ...

    Nausea/Vomiting

    Side Effects

    multiple side effects: nausea, vomiting, low white counts, low red counts (anemia), chemo brain, mouth sores, hair loss, nails destroyed, etc. Phase 1 in hospital was manageable, Phase 2 as out-patient was very difficult for me and caregivers ...

    Getting Out of Hospital

    Celebration

    Getting out of the hospital after 2 mos. was a major celebration. I was so happy I cried when I got the news I could leave!

    Cancer is back/Recurred

    Oh No

    got a positive PCR blood test 6 mos. into Phase 3 (Maintenance); have a bone marrow biopsy scheduled to reconfirm (if positive, is considered a first relapse and will go on to more IV chemo and ATRA) (if negative, go back on oral chemo Maintenance)
