    Oh No

    diagnosed on Oct 7 stage 3 surgery was to be laprascopic and became open 3 hour surgery diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that had spread

    Colon surgery (colectomy or hemicolectomy)

    Procedure or Surgery

    stayed in hospital for 2 weeks...had lots of pain issues...and could not go home had to stay with family for the next month. In Nov had port placed YUCK

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

    Between the cancer surgery and the chemo treatments I was exhausted and nauseated all the time. I had to make several trips to the ER for the nausea as treatment at home was not working.

    Celebration

    I was so happy to finish my chemo...I was able to return to work parttime and then worked back into full-time. I work as an RN in a very busy ER and having the neuropathy makes starting IV's difficult I have had to learn some new tricks...they work

    I am so tired, unable to work or go back to school...did finish my first degree before this cancer disgnosis. I hated going to treatment everyother week..I know others who go daily I feel for them.

    Cancer has spread/Metastasized

    Oh No

    Now the cancer has showed up in my left lung near my heart..had a cardiothoracic surgeon do the surgery due to the proxmicity of the nodule to my heart

    although surgery went great and I was released just 2 days later..was off work one month and did not have to have chemo YEAH!!!! to this day I remain sore where surgery was done I am in school now (on-line). The impact to my daily life is still a concern as I am not able to do the things I could before my cancer dx.
