    Surgery

    Procedure or Surgery

At age 22 I first had the lump removed that I initially felt. It was a short out patient day surgery. Minimal pain only about a 2 inch incision. I was up and running the following day. After discovering it was a cancerous lymph node I had another surgery the following month. They completely removed my thyroid and "cherry picked" any cancerous lymph nodes on the right side of my neck. I had an incision from the left side of the front of my neck all the way around to about an inch and a half under my right ear. During surgery they discovered the majority of my tumor was on the left side of my neck so a month later they again "cherry picked" on the left side. I now have a scar from right below my left ear all the way around to my right ear. Both surges I had a drain that stayed in almost 2 weeks. It was torture. I was in a lot of pain for a while. I still have nerve damage in my right arm and there's a slight disfigurement in my right shoulder due to the muscle weakness. I couldn't sleep on my stomach for over a year because of the pain of turning my neck that far.

Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Disagree

    Allergic reaction

    Side Effects

Before getting a scan my doctor prescribed cytomel. I received the generic and had to go to the emergency room in the middle of the night due to an allergic reaction. Something to do with the dye in it.

    Confusion

    Side Effects

When my doctors take me off of my synthroid I'm a different person. I can't concentrate I can't sleep but I'm always tired. In class I couldn't pay attention and my grades showed that.

    Side Effects

Trying to figure out if it's related but I haven't had a cycle in a year and four months. Nervous it could be a long term side effect
