    Oh No

After having bladder cancer and back to work as a flight attendant which I love, I discovered some little bumps on my hole. (I don't know how else to put it). It was diagnosed by my Infectious disease doctor as anal cancer.( I am also HIV+ and not ashamed of it!) It is caused by Human Papiloma Virus. Sometimes this is called anal warts if it is the non carcinoma variety but mine were cancerous. Stage one was the diagnosis. I though OK, I can beat this quickly and get back to work....wrong....

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I started a chemo drug called 5FU. It was a good name for it 'cause it really [email redacted] me! It was not like the Chemotherapy I had before for bladder cancer. I got so sick that it really almost killed me. I was hospitalized several times through the treatment.

    External radiation

    Radiation

The chemo was causing so much trouble that I don't know if I was having side effects form the radiation. I got through the treatments and was doing OK except for diarrhea. So I thought I would be OK in a bit. I went back to work and started having major problems with my digestive system. It got so bad I had to stop working again. My doctor acted like I was the only person who had ever had this. I don't know if he was hiding something or what - he was an idiot! BTW his name is Doctor WU and he works at REX hospital in Raleigh,NC. Don't use this doctor! I really think he screwed me up. If I had to do it again I would have gone to Sloan Kettering Cancer center from the start. Any way as time went on the radiation destroyed my entire digestive system as well as the neo bladder with continent diversion which is a man made bladder made of intestine and is inside me. I ended up having dual nephrostomy tubes(tubes coming out of my back connected to my kidneys and then connected to bags on my legs to collect urine) and a colostomy which I (to this day) cannot stand. Two years later I was able to have my neo bladder re-built and got to lose the tubes. The surgery required more of my small and large bowel and put me into short bowel syndrome that I have to deal with to this day. It requires that I have IV fluids every day and IV replacement of electrolytes. The radiation basically ruined my life as I knew it.

    No decision but read on....

    Decision Point

I didn't really have a choice to do all of this if I wanted to live. And I did at any cost.

    Acupuncture

    Other Care

I started having acupuncture and I do believe it has helped me survive all this. I just want to say in closing that I am doing OK. All of this has left me with some serious emotional problems but I am very strong and I get by. If I can help anyone please feel free to contact me.
