    Diagnosed

    Oh No

A silly summer cold..a cough that wouldn't stop, then shortness of breath.Went to 2 doctors & cat scan indicated LC in mediasteinal area and small nodes in r lung -- with lymph nodes going crazy - trying to shut my bronchial tube on 1 side. Hearing 'may have lung cancer' from my primary and seeing the cat scan at my pulmonary md's office shocked & terrified me.

had to ask for help finding an oncologist

    Decision Point

was talking to my 2 doctors about getting a 2nd opinion at Sloan didn't understand why my MD wanted me to find an oncologist didn't really know what an oncologist is. MD also stressed getting treatment quickly. Overwhelmed & terrified. & pretty sick with taking a lot of drugs & their side effects. Once I got an oncologist turned things around quickly. Prepped long list of questions for our consultation. Mtg. with him gave me hope -- I do have a chance and I will fight this and I have plans for my future. I also met radiation oncologist. I relate well with and trust my doctors to help me get better. 2nd opinion confirmed my treatment plans.
