    Diagnosed

    Oh No

My daughter Tori Riley is 24 years old and after months of being treated for GURD we were able to get an ultrasound of the gallbladder and what they found was shocking to everyone. She had many tumors in the Liver which was causing the pain. She was then sent for an MRI and they found a very large tumor along with many smaller ones. 7 Biopsies were done and they were found to be cancerous and came from the colon. She then had a colonoscopy and the tumor was found along with several polyps. The polyps were removed. It is mestasized colon cancer, stage 4.

To start treatment or get 2nd opinion

    Decision Point

From the time we found out and after all the test was about 3 weeks. We wanted to get a second opinion but, she decided to go for it and start Chemo right away so we had to get a power port. Tori has had her 4th round of treatment and we go for a MRI next week to see how the tumors have responded. The CEA markers have gone down from over 600 to 146 right before her 4th round of Chemo. The future treatment will include removal of the tumor in the colon and the tumors in the liver but they first have to shrink the tumors.

Which way to go on colon surgery

    Decision Point

We have got different opinions from the Doctors on how to handle the colon surgery. One said resection and one says remove. The liver will be addressed first and we will know next week after the MRI what will happen.
