whether or not to treat chronic hepatitis c, which created cancer and will possibly cure both

    Decision Point

Several specialists claim SMZL is an outgrowth of chronic hep-c , aqnd if I cure the virus, odds are the cancer will remit and disappear. Neither disease has caused symptoms. Cancer is indolent, and my liver has mild fibrosis. The standard treatment for hcv (hepatitis) is a 26 week course of interfuron, and daily ribavirin, both toxic, with nasty side effects, some possibly permanent. Some doctors suggest a wait and see program, with monthly blood analysis. Others suggest going after the hcv, and hope for the best. Aside from mild fatigue, I have no symptoms. Having trouble deciding what to do. Fatigue could be a function of age, and sedentary lifestyle.
