    Surgery

    Procedure or Surgery

After my dads 1st craniotomy they sent the tumor tissue to the pathogist and discovered my dad had a gliomablastima multi form stage 4, this came as a suprise because the drs first thought it to be stage 2 :(. My dad had a very difficult recovery, he was in the icu for 2 weeks. Once he recovered my dad went home and ran his buisness once again. :) I remember the neurosurgeon telling my dad and I that if he got an infection soon after surgery his chances of being a long term survivor would be great! 2 weeks after going home 1 month after surgery he had a staph infection!

    Uncontoled seizer

    Oh No

At A family reunion late 2009 my dad had started a mini-mal Seizer that started at he left eye and paralyzed him all the way to his left foot! We called 911 they thought he was having a stroke but I quickly informed the paramedics that in fact this was a Seizer not a stroke! They told me I had no clue what I was talking about! Lol!!!! Once at the hospital they almost lost him! They kept him on propathol "milk" in a coma for 3 days until I called the SF VA to get My dad out of this XXX whole of a hospital and transfer him to the VA. The next morning the va came and got my dad! Once at the SF VA they determined it was a a Seizer and tweaked his meds.

    Infection

    Side Effects

Soon after the surgery in march my dad got a staph infection once again. He was so sick he was Holucinating and his head was swallen and puss was draining for his incision site. It took my dads brother who is a medical malpractice attorney to get the neurosurgeon to come look at my dad 2 days after being admitted! This is renown in Reno! Btw! The dr came looked at my dad and rushed him into emergency surgery!!! My dad had the mess flap removed and he stayed in the Icu for 5 days. He hasn't fully recovered to this day! This was in June of this year.
