    External radiation

    Radiation

I was able to have the "Canadian" protocol. While increasing the standard dose it decreases the term from 6 weeks to 3 1/2 weeks. I just completed my radiation treatment last week. The worst of the skin side effects have occurred in the week following the completion of treatment. Regardless, I am lucky the side effects have had minimal effect on my day to day acivities. Could have had internal radiation but after the needle biopsy and two surgeries I did not want another somewhat invasive procedure.

    Fatigue (tiredness)

    Side Effects

Fatigue set in for me about 2 weeks after starting radiation. They say it may take a couple months to get better.
