    Mohs surgery

    Procedure or Surgery

Only option for area under and into R Nares. I had to go back in after hour plus of procedure.... They did not get all of it...... That is when they started upward into the nares..... (Not sure if it was just "Life" in general or effects of Lidocaine>>>> tears fell from my eyes during entire procedure. I was offered Xanax or Valium and declined. I remained calm... and was told I was an excellent patient and I had the freedom to say anything I wanted. (That was a bit difficult with trying to keep that area free of movement....) I received EXCELLENT care and ..... enough about me.

    Went as Expected: Neutral/NA

Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Not Specified

    Cancer successfully removed.....

    Celebration

I always try to find a bit of humor. It is my way of coping. I had to leave a pressure dressing on for 48 hours. My upper lip tripled in size>>>> so I sent a pic from my cell to my best friend asking what she thought of my Angelina Jo Lee Lips..... (I felt relief with her reply>>>> How amazing she thought I was to be able to find any humor what so ever.) I have a scar and they had to do some reconstruction.... (Just with extra skin.....) so i have a scar that runs into the mah's scar where they removed tissue from my right facial tissue from nose to side of mouth.... I don't know what that part of the face is called, but scarring was minimal..... and my right side upper lip droops a bit..... I am THANKFUL cancer is gone.

    SURGERY TIMES 3

    Procedure or Surgery

Three surgeries on same day..... Left arm and scarring is 11 mm down superior left arm. This has left me with difficulty using this arm. I am unable to lift my arm as before and range of motion has greatly decreased. I have pain daily in this arm. Many nights I am unable to sleep due to the pain. Right Upper arm inferior scar is 7 mm across >>>>>> Pathology>>>>CANCER FREE. i have no pain in this area. Occasional tenderness but site is healed . (Left Arm incision healed also) Right Upper Arm Superior....5 mm :( Pathology>>>>> Cancer. Deep Invasive Basal Cell. I have to return for discussion and options for further treament. BUT THAT AREA IS PAIN FREE. "?"

Pathology Results on 3 arm surgeries.....

    Oh No

I received a message on my cell to call back to set up appointment to go over pathology reports of the two surgeries on my Right arm and the one on my left arm. I was unable to return call due to poor cell service at that time. Then I received a letter in the mail to contact the office to set up appointment to discuss pathology report of my LEFT arm. (So I called. HURRAH they said the RIGHT arm was free and clear.) BUT The LEFT ARM had Deep Extensive Basal Cell and I needed to set up appointment to discess options of treatment. I was unable to set up appointment then and they were busy that month.... Well, I got a registered letter from the Skin Surgery Center... (It was mailed out the day I called.....) BUT the Registered Letter said the DEEP EXTENSIVE BASAL CELL WAS IN MY RIGHT SUPERIOR......? This leaves me with a lot of QUESTIONS. Was it just a TYPO? HOW MANY OTHER MISTAKES were made??????????? But No Matter WHAT.... I "DO" KNOW that GOD is in control.

    Problem with doctor

    Oh No

Maybe I should have posted an update before I asked my question. I had 4 surgeries August 2012. The Moh's was successful. The other three were not. According to the pathology reports I have deep extensions at the other three sites. I have tried to get answers. The information I have gotten from the beginning contradicted itself. I was told different things over the telephone (NOT by the doctor or nurse but whom I believe is basically a unit clerk.) I have also received letters concerning the pathology reports, (two) and they contradict each other. My family doctor got the pathology reports from the skin surgeon and told me that the three areas have no clear margins and it was deep and extensive Basal Cell. (The skin surgeon told me when she was in the process of the surgery that was over 2 hours that she did not see how she did not get it all because she removed so much.) The Skin Doctor would not speak with me on the phone. Someone else calls telling me I was to come to the office (3 hours away) to discuss further treatment options. Every time I speak with that skin surgery center I get different stories and it is like talking with a politician that dances around the issues. It is frustrating. I am soon to call a different dermatologist and go from there. (I do not see how they can remove more from where the surgeries were. I can no longer lift a 5 pound bag of sugar UP to put it in the cabinet shelf. (I wish I would have NEVER went and had the surgeries.... but the doctor that referred her was one I trusted.... but she was only referred because she does the Moh's surgery.) Maybe I would still be working and have money if I would not have had that those surgeries. I will NOT recommend her to any one. The doctor makes you feel welcome while you are in her office and telling how I could even call her (the doctor) on a Saturday and she would speak with me. SHE has never spoken with me on the phone after the four surgeries. And I have NO insurance so I am a self pay. (AND YES THEY ARE RECEIVNG AND ACCEPTING MY PAYMENTS.... Not to mention the $1,000.00 plus up front.
