Diagnosed
Oh No
At first I just couldn't believe I had cancer, even though I had been coughing up blood, which is why I went to the doctor to begin with.
Chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
Even though the side effects from the chemo were pretty bad on certain days (the fifth day after infusion was the worst) I knew it was just something I had deal with. I never gave in and accepted that I could die - I knew I was going to survive, no matter what.
Lobectomy
Procedure or Surgery
Recovery from the lobectomy was the worst thing I have ever done in my entire life. The pain was unbelievable. I was worried that I might end up addicted to the pain pills because I was on them for so long, so I only took them when I couldn't stand the pain any longer, but without them I could not function. I'm just glad I didn't develop an addiction.
