    Diagnosed

    Oh No

Just found out I have breast cancer 2 days ago. It is a grade 2. Not tested enough yet for a stage. We don't have insurance so I am getting put on medicaid. My problem is that some of my family looks at me like I'm already dying. I don't feel sick or near death., but my sister looks at me like I am. I am trying hard not to be scared, but when people look at me that way I feel so alone.

    Double Mastectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

Had infiltrating lobule in right breast. Chose double mastectomy and lymph node dissection. for my peace of mind and not wanting to have to deal with it coming back in my left breast. Decided no reconstruction due to having small breasts and husband and I have been married for 25 years. Had surgery on Oct.10 2012. Only problems are seromas needing aspirated every week. Oncologist says I am cancer free. Tumor was estrogen positive. Waiting on oncotype dx test results to see if hormone therapy is all I'll need. Praying it is, because I feel emtionally drained at times. Feel like I am less of a woman without my breasts. Husband says he fell in love with me and not my breasts.

    Hormone therapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

Started my Tamoxifen on11/13/2012. I am having a hard time making myself take it. Have read alot of stories how it can rob one's quaility of life. I am thankful I don't have to do chemo though. I just want my life back so I can raise my boys without bouts of crying for know reason. I also get so frusrated because my range of motion is not as good as I would like.
