    Oh No

We moved from Las Vegas, NV to Siler City NC and within a month I was diagnosed with breast cancer. A 6 centimeter tumor was under my left armpit.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I started chemotherapy with Taxol, Carboplatin and Herceptin every 21 days. When the side effects became too severe the Taxol and Carboplatin were discontinued and I stayed on the Herceptin for a year.

    Cancer is back/Recurred

    Oh No

Two months before my 5 year cancerversary my tumor markers went haywire. I had gone for my yearly exam and when my lab work came back my Oncologist ordered a ct and pet and then a biopsy that showed that the cancer had relocated to my adrenal gland.

    Birthday

    Celebration

My birthday this year was spent at my cancer center but I couldn't have had a better birthday. My labwork showed that my markers were down significantly! So, it seems as though the combination of medication is working to keep the tumor in check. I have a ct scheduled for Oct. to see just how much the tumor has shrunk. I am still coping with the fact that I have stage 4 cancer, but at least it looks more promising now.
