Relationship issues
Oh No
I was diagnosed with breast cancer on April 13, 2012. My biggest fear was tell the news to my new husband of 1 1/2 years whose mother past from in back in 2002, and cousin past from it in 2010. He did not and does not have a favorable opinion of breast cancer. I have a strong trust and faith in God and know he is a healer so I already know that I am a survivor.
Chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
I've been in Chemo for 4 months now and have 1 month and a week left. Chemo has been good and tolerable. I've made sure to eat healthy, exercise 3 times a week and participate in yoga during this process. I've also incorporated spa days with massages, steaming and sauna as well.
Surgery and breast reconstruction
Decision Point
I have 6 more weeks of chemo left and then surgery. I am now faced with surgery choices of mastectomy or bilateral mastectomy and breast reconstruction. I been reading about the reconstruction options and feel overwhelmed and confused. I would like to feel my breast in the future and can't imagine having a major part of my body displayed but numb or lifeless. I'm seeking stories of experience from survivors to help me with information in order to make a decision.
