    Diagnosed

    Oh No

When you hear the word "cancer" it can be paralyzing. Thankfully, my doctor was very supportive and informational.

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

Thank God that chemo was relatively easy for me. Yes, I lost my hair, but the other side effects I experienced were relatively minor. I had to have two blood transfusions because I became anemic. I still have neuropathy in my finger tips and the bottoms of my feet from the Taxol.

Effects of Taxol, Sentinel Node dissection, herb during radiation to reduce skin irritation.

    Clinical Trial

I participated in as many clinical trials as I could because I wanted my cancer experience to mean something. I wanted to help others if I could.

Since I finished radiation on December 15th, we hosted Christmas dinner at our house to celebrate the end of treatment.

    Physical Therapy

    Other Care

I've been in physical therapy for several months for range of motion issues in my shoulder and scar tissue massage as some of my scars have become uncomfortable.

    Lymphedema

    Side Effects

I have the beginning stages of lymphedema, but physical therapy is helping to teach me massage techniques and stretching that can lessen it's effect on my daily life.
