    Full lymph node dissection

    Procedure or Surgery

I had a femoral lymphnode dissection and I thought it went ok but later I developed lymphedema in my leg and from the moment I woke up from surgery my thigh was numb. Every time I asked my surgeon about it he'd say I don't know. I finally found out it was neuropathy and I'm taking Gabapentin three times a day. It works well to control the burning pain and the creepy crawly feelings in the leg but it makes me very crabby with my husband and those I love and it aggravates my post menopausal hot flashes. I thought they were bad before but now they're unbearable. In addition to that, I think it aggravates my depression and anxiety.

    Staph infection abcess in groin

    Oh No

I developed a very serious staph infection in my groin a month after surgery and I spent 5 days in the hospital on IV therapy and then was sent home with an IV for another 32 days of therapy. In addition to that, I also had a drainage tube in my groin which was very painful and cumbersome.

    Immunotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

I'll be starting Interferon therapy on Monday. I'll receive it 5 days a week for four weeks and then I will start giving myself injections of the medication at home after that.
