    Diagnosed

    Oh No

I met with the oncologist yesterday and found out I have triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma. My daughter (22) and son (18) went along with me to listen and hear things I knew that I would miss. Of course when I got home I immediately got online and was a bit thrown to read that this type is aggressive...that word just threw me for a loop. I will begin chemo within 8 weeks after my lumpectomy which is on Tueday (10/16). I will also be getting my port at the same time. I felt very comfortable with the doctor...she spent almost an hour with us and answered all of our questions. I will be going back on 11/15 for another meeting with the doc, nutritionist and having a chemo class. With the timing of everything it appears I will hopefully have some hair on Christmas but will welcome the New Year with a bald head. My son made the astute observation that I'll be able to rock cool Christmas hats...gotta love him.
