    Decision Point

Family researched on the internet to find appendix cancer specialist. We asked my oncologist, "if you were 41 with 2 young children and want to live, what would you do?" She said she would be researching Dr. sugarbaker, an appendix cancer specialist in Washington DC..I called and became a candidate for his surgery.

    Pulmonary embolism

    Side Effects

Having mini "siezures" at home. My oncologist wanted me in the emergency room. After poking at me for six hours they finally did a chest ex-ray and discovered a pulmonary embolism. I was admitted to the hospital immediately, and put on clot busters. Not fun.

Went to Washington DC for the MOAS

    Other Care

They call it the MOAS, or mother of all surgeries. I was in Washington DC for three weeks. Had to leave my kids knowing I may never see them again. My husband and mom came with me.

    Cancer is back/Recurred

    Oh No

My one year check up. After 2 clear scans, they find my appendix cancer metastasized to my lung. We wait 3 months and it grows.
