    Diagnosed

    Oh No

Found the lump on my own.... never thought it was cancer. Went to the dr. appointment to get results alone b/c it doesn't run in my family. Thought I could never get Breast Cancer.... Boy was I not ready for the results.

    Double Mastectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

I decided that if they are removing one breast, then they are taking both. Very glad I decided to do this. Now I don't live in fear that it may come back in the other one. Had 4 lymph nodes removed.... I hate that this is bothering more than having my breast removed. Not being able to lift arm up without doing my excersizes sucks.... and now dealing with lyphadema ugh

    Chemotherapy

    Drug or Chemo Therapy

6 months of chemo, Herceptin for 52 weeks, Taxol for 12 weeks, Ellence-5FU-Cytoxan every 3 weeks x4 was the meds I was on. That was 6 weeks of XXX. Losing my hair wasn't a big deal, but losing my eyebrows crushed me. I learned real quick to draw them on. Chemo wasn't too bad, being really weak and the achy body was tough. I worked thru it all. I drive a forklift, how I did it I have NO IDEA. I guess I am stronger than I thought!!

    Other

    Radiation

Radiation sucked. I had a tough time with this. 7 weeks straight... I burned twice. The skin is so tight now it is VERY uncomfortable. I hate it.

    Procedure or Surgery

Well finally after almost a year I had decided that is was time for the Port to go Bye-bye!! Always had this thought in my head that if I had it removed that the cancer would come back... but I learned to put all this cancer stuff behind me and focus more on getting in shape and staying healthy... so OUT came the port!! What a GREAT feeling. Now I am at the point that I am never getting poked with a needle again unless it is a tattoo LOL I am done with ALL surgeries. Had my final touches to my new boobies, my not like them 100% but they will do as I am done and this chapter is CLOSED!!! Now it is my turn to reach out to others that needs my help as I fought ALONE )= and no one should ever fight alone!!
