    Diagnosed

    Oh No

After having a nagging cough that wouldn't go away, I went to the Dr. to see about it. The Dr. first said it was bronchitis. Another month went by and went back to the Dr. because cough was still there. This time it was a different diagnosis, pneumonia. After taking drugs for that for a month or so, another trip to the Dr. this time a cat scan was done, the diagnosis this time was Lung Cancer.

    Misdiagnosed

    Oh No

The first three times to the Dr. to find out why the cough wouldn't go away were incorrect diagnoses.

To decide whether or not to pursue further treatments

    Decision Point

The Dr.s believe that treatments will not stop the spreading of the tumor, and it cannot be taken out in surgery. Now to decide whether or not to have treatments. What's the use in having treatments if they won't do any good, and be sicker than I would have been.

    Hospice

    Other Care

We have decided to not have treatment, and to enjoy life as best as can be in the meantime.

    Hospitalization

    Other Care

After the Lung Cancer diagnosis, there was a short period where the Dr. was developing a plan of treatment. I started coughing up blood and was put in the hospital to see why. It was determined that the tumor was causing blood vesells to burst and put blood in my lungs. Breathing treatments would temporarily stop the bleeding.
