Implant chemotherapy port
Procedure or Surgery
The Port is the best option if you are faced with Chemotherapy. Expecially for your veins. It's sad to see other patients under go the neddles every treatment. The Port is one poke and your done.
Mastectomy
Procedure or Surgery
I had a single mascetomy and not reconstructive surgery at the time. Unfortunetly I had an infection from the drains. Then I had another emergancy surgery and had an open wound during chemotherapy for 6.5 months. That was not fun, dealing with chemo, hair coming out, wound dressing change 3xs a week and a 3 year old. So I am a little gun-shy about reconstruction of the breast, I have a prostetic that works just fine.
Chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
Make sure they give you PRE-MEDICATIONS prior to your Chemotherapy Meds. Pain & Nassua meds are necessaary prior to them. They usually would wear off 3 days after treatment.
Hair loss (alopecia)
Side Effects
That is true for the Hair loss, but it does come back. Mine grayer than I was, but from what I have been through no wonder.
Diarrhea
Side Effects
This was horrible to have with everything else they had me taking. Running to the bathroom was the worst. They did give meds for this to.
