Diagnosed
Oh No
After having my 3rd child in July of this year my Pap from my 6 week post pardum appointment came back with cancerous cells on my cervix. Scratch that... I had grown a 7 centimeter tumor on my cervix. A week later I met with my Oncologist... I had grown another tumor in that time. He diagnosed me with Stage 3 Cervical Cancer.
Surgery
Procedure or Surgery
On October 12th I had the 2nd tumor removed from my vaginal wall. The surgery went really well. I fell asleep in one room and woke up in another. I went under that morning and by lunch I was home playing Skyrim.
External radiation
Radiation
Hmm... what to share about my radiation experience... What do you say about laying on a table for 10 minutes as a machine rolls around you? Oh! While your pants are around your knees causing you to flash anyone who comes into the room. I swear I have flashed everyone who works in that hospital minus the Ladies at the front desk... but give it time. I'm sure I'll get them too. It's kinda like a really lame ride out front of the grocery stores from back in the day.
Relationship
Loss
My fiance started cheating on me right as we found out my diagnosis.... FML
Health insurance issue
Oh No
Due to a hickup in my insurance they had to delay my treatment until COBRA was approved. Why did this suck so bad? I was let go from my job the day after finding out I had Stage 3 Cancer. I was then informed I had medical coverage for up to 60 days... that was bull. My insurance was cancelled on the 16th. XXX. Ran through some hoops, had documents emailed to me, overnighted forms, was told said forms were not received though I had the confirmation slip... ugh... It's all fixed now. THough I have to say... the fact that someone without insurance who has cancer will die due to refusal of treatment is FUBAR'd. Just sayin.
