    Diagnosed

    Oh No

I had gone to the doctor right after christmas with a huge neck - I had cat marks and thought my cat could of infected me with his nails. Doctor said possible - lets wait a week - wasn't better so she sent me for a CT scan - just as I got home - the phone rang - the doctor wanted to see me right away. I remember the look on her face and my husbands when she said it was cancer and needed a sample of the tissue and lump. I just sad there and cried in my husbands arms. My son and daughter-in-law were in the waiting room waiting for us to come out. One look at them and I lost it again.

    Decision Point

Met with my doctor to discuss treatment - I have grade 2, stage 4 lymphoma - chemo was decided. 6 months agreesive treatment - once a week and then a 2 year maintenance program - chemo every 6th month for a month/once a week. Okay - I decided to take this on as a project - I have been an administrative assistant for 30 years - it was going to be just another project!!!!!

    Decision Point

This was the hardest - I left my husband of 35 years. We battle 10 years of alcholism for him and the last 6 years of our marriage his pain med addiction - but he was not there for me and my cancer. It was the first time I was only concern about myself.

    Remission

    Celebration

It is great being in remission - my life has totally changed.... I am not the same person anyone. I am divorced, living on my own and dating. I get lonely and sad sometimes - but I am alive!!!!!
