    Lumpectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

Everything has gone so quickly,on October 31st . My MD confirmed that I did have a Lump in my left breast. She sent me to get a mammagram and ultrasound. The radiologist.told me that I did have a mass and I had a choice of needle biopsy or surgery. I was so shocked that I said I would like to talk to my Dr. She got an appt. with the surgeon on the following Monday, November 5th. Surgeon saw me and set me up for a Lumpectomy,(After discussing my options.)The next day I had the Lumpectomy without any complications. It was a lot easier than I thought and my surgeon was so nice and informative. He said I had a mass in the 4 to 5 o'clock position which was sent for pathologic evaluation. I had scans of bone, liver and all internal organs the next week. Thank the Lord everything was just fine. I forgot to mention the tumor was Positive for estrogen and progesterone Receptors and negative HER-2 . Next step I am to see an onocologist for treatment. I feel well and the staples although uncomfortable while the healing was in progress, were easily taken out and I am healing just fine.
