    Double Mastectomy

    Procedure or Surgery

I had a double umbilical hernia repair in June and I found that recovery to be more painful and much longer. Just over 2 weeks after surgery I am able to do almost everything I was able to do before.

    Went as Expected: Strongly Agree
    Minimal Recovery: Strongly Agree
    Minimal Side Effects: Strongly Agree
Minimal Impact to Daily Life: Strongly Agree

I decided on Bilateral Mastectomy even though it was only in 1 breast.

    Decision Point

I felt this was the best decision to make and didn't even have to think about it.

    Diagnosed

    Oh No

I got the shock of my life when I was diagnosed. Made an appointment with my gynecologist after experiencing a pinching feeling in my right nipple for a couple of months. She sent me for a Mammography to be on the safe side. Nothing in the world could have prepared me to find out it was cancer!!!
