Mammogram
Clinical Trial
I've been questioning drs. for five, six years about a painful lump. I didn't know to make a big deal of it, it came and went. Drs. said it was part of my cycle. I had mammograms regularly. Two days before my last mammogram a second lump developed, I knew at that point sonograms and biopsies would follow. ( I did have a few sonograms and biopsies about 10 or more years earlier.)
Sonogram
Clinical Trial
At the sonogram, the dr. found a third lump. She said I needed to have biopsies, said she could do it right then or I could scheduled it later. We did them immediately. She let me know at that appointment that she was sure it was cancer, but we had to wait for biopsies to confirm it. I let her know at that point, I was terrified of chemotherapy and I would just want to remove both breasts so that I didn't have to worry about this again. (Yes, I did discuss it with family and friends before it was time to make that decision...actually I was set on that decision, if anyone disagreed I avoided them and only confided in those who agreed).
